If i upgrade to Windows 7 from Xp or Vista, what happens to the older version of windows disk? After the upgrade, will i still be able to install that XP or Vista on another machine and have it activate? Can i install Vista on one machine and then install the same Vista on another (without activating it)and upgrade that one to Windows 7?

[Solved] upgrade to Windows 7
(4 posts)Ta4Ray, hello. If you purchase an upgrade license, the original XP or Vista license key should no longer be used. I would expect it not to validate.
You cannot install a Windows 7 Upgrade edition on a system that is not activated. Have a read through my Windows 7 Upgrade sticky thread, and the links provided in it. If you still have questions after that, let us know.
