If i upgrade to Windows 7 from Xp or Vista, what happens to the older version of windows disk? After the upgrade, will i still be able to install that XP or Vista on another machine and have it activate? Can i install Vista on one machine and then install the same Vista on another (without activating it)and upgrade that one to Windows 7?

I don't think so. An OS license is for 1 system only and once it is registered to that system (actually that motherboard), it will have to stay with that system.

Ta4Ray, hello. If you purchase an upgrade license, the original XP or Vista license key should no longer be used. I would expect it not to validate.

You cannot install a Windows 7 Upgrade edition on a system that is not activated. Have a read through my Windows 7 Upgrade sticky thread, and the links provided in it. If you still have questions after that, let us know.
