Updating Evolution 2.12 to 2.24

I am really new to changing things on CentOS5 and have not been successful yet in installing
thing on this system. I want to update my Evolution mail client. Is there a real easy way of doing
it with STARTX without losing stuff from the older version. Also, do have have to download and
install all packages for Evolution. Have downloaded Evolution 2.24.2, but not the following (what
are these files): Evolution Data Server 2.24.2
GtkHTML 3.24.2
libsoup 2.24.2
Evolution Exchange 2.24.2
Like I said, I am very new to LINUX and would like to learn how to install programs on this system.
Any step by step instructions would be greatly appreciated......

tam i'm watching your post. someone will answer. i'm learning ubuntu and so far i've found all my answers here, in google and once in a while in the ubuntu forums.
