I think that may be the problem as it's the only thing I can think of. I have a Dell Inspirion 1520. Tried a new keyboard-same problem. When you type one letter you usually get 2, usually the one below the key you typed. Using a USB plugged in keyboard, it works fine. Thanks for any help

Updated Bios and now my keyboard won't work correctly
(23 posts)haenischr, an Inspiron 1520 is a laptop, right? Is there a problem with the built-in keyboard that is causing you to use and externally connected USB keyboard?
EDIT: sorry, I think that I misread your first post. It is the built-in keyboard that is giving double characters.
From Dell Support, it is the F2 key to enter BIOS on an Inspiron laptop. However, if you are getting a double character, the system might see a "3" and not enter BIOS.
