Is it the USB port or the device you are putting in it that is not recognized?

If it is the device then it could be that the device has become damaged, perhaps by old age, or by pulling it out without properly releasing it.

If it is the port itself, the drivers could be old or corrupt, or the port itself has become damaged.

Try the device on a different computer to determine if it is the port or the device.

I was able to fix that problem by running my registry cleaner.

We do not support the use of registry cleaners. They can do more harm than good.

At worst they can make your computer unbootable. Or they could cause things not to work properly.

I used ASUS USB wireless adapter. When I connect it it says unrecgonised USB. I had pluged it in every slot and the problem is still occuring.

Is the wireless adapter recognized if connected to a different computer as Xhi pointed out in his post above?

So now we can rule out faulty wireless adapter. But, it would really help if you could give more details about your system such as your pc's manufacturer/model, operating system, the exact error message, etc. Other usb devices are recognized by the system, right?
