Greetings,

I am looking to add a Unix OS to my Mac to be run via Parallels software. Are there any recommendations that are preferred? I'll be using this to familiarize myself with Unix.

Thanks!
J.

For the purpose, I would run Linux in Virtual Box. Saves you a lot of trouble. https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads

Here is a tutorial on how to install Win8 in Virtual Box. But it may be helpful because the principle would be the same. You just have to choose a different host and guest OS.
