Just tried this under Vista, messed something up. I get "Windows Explorer has stopped working" and after a restart it's still the same. Funny thing is, the folder I created has disappeared!

...EDIT: Just read the rest of the page... DO NOT TRY ON VISTA 64... Sigh... Fools do jump in LOL!

at0mic,

Still trying to come up with an answer.
---
I can only pin it for a second or two and then it goes away.
---
Tried putting the original file in serveral different places and making short cuts to pin. NO - JOY

@ ProstheticHead, If you look a LITTLE farther down the line, there was a fix for that. If you follow it, you end up here , and then if you go towards the bottom of the page, all will appear to YOU!

This works in Vista Ultimate 32 bit too, only just as originally posted. No "fix-it" needed......we're kind of the 'simpletons' now, if you will.

@Odeho19, thank you - but I got it sorted swiftly enough, (for once) just opened cmd using the task manager trick, (couldn't get it from explorer or run window) navigated to C:\users\kevin\desktop then deleted the folder.

Sure beats "fumbling around" with 100 mouse clicks to get to a destination.

Not sure why MS excludes these legitimate screens from their O/S Final RTMs ??
---
Makes the MS phrase "User Friendly" really have some meaning. (lol) :)

i pulled it over to the start menu and deleted the desktop icon which then deleted the entire folder making it empty in the start menu. i do like this but i don't want icons littering up my desktop. why hide 1 icon when i can grumble about nothing :P
