After doing a bios update on my G74sx ver. 203, I noticed that UEFI was showing up in the Bios with the ability to enable/disable. I haven't found much info about UEFI other than it may help prevent low level malware such as rootkits? Is there any other real advantage to enabling UEFI. Also, does UEFI need to be enabled before installing the OS and will it work on a dual boot, Windows 7/8. This post is more out of curiosity than necessity!! P.S. Any personal thoughts about UEFI would be appreciated!!! Thank you..

Before you embark into UEFI, you better first read up on it. It is VERY different to BIOS.

Well I just found out that apparently UEFI must be enabled before the install of the OS.Soooooo, if that's the case, I think I'll leave things the way they are. Not to the point were I'm comfortable enough to back everything up and do a reinstall.
