Hi there and hello from the new guy :-)

Today at Uni a guy next to me had Ubuntu running, and I don`t quite like its look. But: The shivery colourful effect when closing a window just looks awesome! Is there a port for Windows (Vista at best)?

Probably had Compiz Fusion effects enabled. Vista has it's own effects when closing/minimizing windows with Aero. Not sure if you have seen it before.

I found a "Compiz Fusion" video on YouTube, but did not quite see the effect that I was talking about. But there was great stuff in there :-)
About Vista: I am running Vista with Aero enabled, but no big-deal effects here. When I close a window it tends to go minimized, and fades out on the way there. Is that "the effect"?

Yes, that is one of the effects of Aero. Read here for more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Aero

This video shows most of the effects of Aero: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uszzfAybmsI

Thanks for link, since I got Aero on my machine I know all of this tho.
That`s why I was asking for a port of the Ubuntu effects, to use it on Vista :-)
