Hi,
I have been long trying to do this and have also found loads of material on the net but want a clear cut solution and expect no better place for that other than htg forums.
I have a 4GB pendrive and have put the ubuntu live USB on it.
Having researched on the net i had found many ways to do that..
As you may see in the link that there is 1 way to partition your pendrive to have a casper-rw partition..i wud luv to do that but i have not found a single gud software which can do that widout errors(even gParted wid the live CD).
Secondly i would even be ok to install ubuntu but then i also want to keep atleast 128 MB of space for the drive to be accessible to windows to leave it in the FAT format....again d problem of Paritions.
I want a suggestions for this because this problem has been troubling me since moths

Ubuntu persistent
(2 posts)I am not exactly certain I understand what you are trying to do. I am running Fedora from a USB stick following these instructions. It works very well - problem is though, that you have to start from scratch with every session. Nothing from the session (downloads, data, settings. etc.) is being kept on the USB stick. So it really only good for playing around.
If you want a real system environment, you may want to try this approach. That is how I have installed Ubuntu and Windows7 with Vista as the host. Works really great and is extremely easy to accomplish. In less than 1 hour you are in business (if you have the Ubuntu ISO file).
