If you want to clean up your Mac the easy way, CleanMyMac is a great tool to get the job done easily, and it will even keep your computer clean automatically.

Unlike the competition, it also includes great tools like a Clean Uninstaller, to get rid of applications and clean up the junk that they leave behind. All with the click of a button.

Brand new to ubuntu - or any linux OS - so bear with me. I have tried downloading some programs (for example, childsplay) and I get as far as opening the folders and browsing through the files, but I don't know how to actually install anything and all the icons are still unrecognisable to my untrained eyes. The file extensions make no sense either, of course - so the best I can do is look at the code for the program. Can anyone help me? Am I lacking a million codecs before it will try to run or what? The run function is a mystery to me. Are there some keywords I should know that I can match up with a specific program name?

Any help is very appreciated! Thank you in advance. :)
