Ubuntu Linux forums indeed have lots and lots of topics, posts, and zillions of similar suggestions. However, in the past 10 years I have yet to see one real solution for this particular issue.
The Belkin wireless adapter dongles simply do not work on Ubuntu. Yes I am sure someone will chime in and say they saw a post about this that had Solved! next to it. IT IS NOT SOLVED. It never was.
you show me a belkin adapter running on ubuntu and i will kiss your ass on main street and give you 3 hours to draw a crowd and the media.
it is not solved. that is all.
