two mac addresses to one ip

I have noticed in my router that I have two different mac addresses to one ip. I have tried to block one only to find that it disables my wireless altogether and to enable my wireless again I have to keep resetting the router which is very annoying. Please help.

mac address a unique chain of characters for any network card. In your case , it seems that two differents devices in your network got this IP (not in the same time of course). But why do you want to delete them ?

I dont want to delete them both, only one. What other device could be connected to my wireless.

I know the mac address for my device, and when I go into my router to attached devices, it does show both mac addresses. Why when I try to block the 'foreign' one, does it disable my wireless altogether. Logically it should disable the other device shouldn't it?

When you disconnect your device do they both disconnect? If so perhaps your device needs/requires/has two mac addresses associated with it.

Also check what happens when you attach your device to a different router.

If it works why are you worried about it?
