We run microsoft office through a server at our HQ.

I have a HP 2605dn printer. I printed some paperwork in the morning. When I tried to use the printer again, it didn't work.

When I clicked the printer icon, is showed the title bar Reception on Printserver - Offline.

I have checked my default settings, and my printer is correctly selected.

I have unplugged and turned off the printer and taken out the usb cable.

I have turned the printer on and reconnected.

I have a solid green light and flashing orange light on the connection.

How do I change my status from offline to ready?

I know this is probably really easy for most of you, but I cannot find how to do it anywhere.

As we only have thinclients, some of the functions that I have access to at home appear to be missing. Our HQ cannot access the printer remotely, and can see nothing wrong.

I have tried to print test pages, and this is fine, I now have a desk of orange monkey pictures, but no letters.

I have checked the printer, and can't find an option to turn it offline on the printer, but this doesn't mean that it somehow hasn't managed to perform this task.

PLEASE HELP.
