trying to see if theses dvd burners are compatible

At a garage sale I came across 6 Sony dw-d22a dvd burner drives. not sure if there are compatibility issues with drives thinking of installing them in the following computers:

Dell Dimension 9100
Dell Dimension 2400
Dell Inspirion 530
Compaq cq5110f
hp 505B Microtower PC

No reason not to just give them a try. The main problem would be drivers for those devices that are compatible with the Operating systemsss on the computers. In addition those drived are IDE. the computer motherboards would have to have an IDE port to attach them to. Newer computers no longer have IDE ports.

But it won't hurt to try.

yeah i knew there was a switch up a few years back but didnt know where the cut off was or how to identify the difference
