trying to install xp with vista pre-installed but failling

i have an hp laptop with vista and want to install xp but i get the message that 'vista is newer than xp so i can't install'.the laptop had three partions drive E: drive F: and drive c: already so i managed to create another one drive G: where i wanted to install xp but the moment i click on install windows xp i get that message.pliz help because i have been reading that it is possible.

You will want to start from scratch. Install Windows XP, and then use a partitioning program to partition your HDD, and then install Windows Vista. It will use either the XP bootloader, or the Vista bootloader, so you won't need to install something else.
