Reboot your machine, AVG might then might cleanse.

However there are many better A/vs nowadays that are still free, perform well with reduced resource sucking engines

My first choice for antivirus is; http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb.....y/mse.aspx

And the free edition of SAS; http://www.superantispyware.com/

YOU MAY WISH TO RUN SAS FIRST!

AVG has become so bloated for modern systems.

Before installing MSE, uninstall AVG using the following that matches your install: http://www.avg.com/gb-en/utilities

SAS is a very proficient app in detecting problems ( that is why I suggested to run 1st )

Post the results,

It may be a false positive. C:\Windows\SysWOW64\svchost.exe is a legitiamte file. Deleting it may have caused a problem. Mine is dated 7/13/2009 with a size of 21kb on both my windows 7 computers. remove AVG. Install MSE and try the scan.

This coming from an AVG fan of many years. However, of late I have found that it was unreliable, bloated and demanding. I have replaced it with MSE on most of my computers and Avast Free on another.,

mike.. SAS did not detect any trojan, just some tracking cookies. So, it maybe just false positive from AVG.
TQ mike.

During the installation process of SAS, you must uncheck the box that says Free Trial.
