I am trying to fix a few problems with my neighbors PC. It is an AMD Athelon 64 dual core with 2gb of RAM and a 200gb hard drive, operating on Win XP Pro (when I finally get it to work). One problem that I have noticed is that whenever the power is disconnected the PC clock resets back to 1 Jan 2007. Does this mean that the battery on the MB may need changing? It's a real pain resetting this all the time. Thanks for all your thoughts and comments on this. / Mike

A new battery will save date, time and all other volatile BIOS settings. If the battery is dead the BIOS is set back to its default condition each time the power is turned off.
