Sorry if this has been brought up already, but ...
With so much confusion, (sometimes depending on a users skill level, or not), and because of news that is reported about bad links for certain software, i was wondering if it might be a good idea to sticky a thread with links to trusted sources of software that are regularly recommended or that might have a history of being redistributed w/ malware.

that is definitely the list of all lists!
huge is an understatement and im sure almost anything i can think of is there somewhere.

*curious - is there a way to search a specific thread for key words?
say if i wanted to search that list / the posts in that thread, for a trusted link to where i can download a particular software

Not any more I don't think. HTG used to have an extra search box for localised searches but I can't remember now if that was on the main Forum page or if it was also in the Threads as well.

The box is still up at the Right Hand Top of the Main Forum Page.

Try searching something like "auto login" without quotes.

@ Rick,

There was another on the Left Hand side, same line as the Google search box.

Yep, taking the HTG site a part like picture above takes some doing... :) :)

The one on the top right now handles all the searches. I use it a lot, and it works great.
