when you right click on the desktop a menu comes up. and on that menu is the word New. you highlight the word and another menu comes out with all of the new stuff you can make. like folder, shortcut and so on. what I would like to know is how do you add or remove the stuff on that menu?(the one with folder and shortcut and so on) I want to know how to do this for Vista and XP home. as my desktop comptuer is XP and my laptop is Vista. thank you.

See the article at http://www.vistax64.com/tutori.....-file.html
It lets you add entries to the new menu.
It should work in Windows XP and Windows Vista.

Both suggestions above require playing around with the Registry. Make a Registry backup (full or partial) before you start playing - just to be safe. See here for ways how to do that:

Thank ya'll (yes I'm from the south) so munch. and I know to back up the Registry if you plan to make any changes. I know a little bit about computers nothing like ya'll do. but I'm willing to learn. so it will be awhile before I'll be able to help ya'll.
