(Solved) - Text looks weird

I don't have words to explain the problem, so here's a screenshot.

See how the white text become colourized on black background? It happens at so many places. Noticed it in Firefox after updating to FF18 (but not sure, maybe it existed before the update as well).

What could be the solution to this?

Looks the same on mine it's a transparent effect, nothing you have to do, the programmer did it for you.

Look closely, it's not transparent. It's just a particular piece of text I showed you just as an example. Here goes another screenshot (coming soon).

It's just down to your monitor, on my laptop screen it's solid white.

@GS: Yes, it's a problem with my PC, of course. Not referring to the HTG site, but I'm trying to diagnose the problem at my end!
(problem: white text on black background DOES NOT appear fully white)

When in doubt, 'Use hardware acceleration when available'.

Firefox =/
