One of my computers picked up an anoying spyware virus that has either deleted or masked my restore points. Is there a way to retrieve or unhide this information so I can restore my computer to an earlier time? I've tried removing this bug with trendmicro's housecall but it's entrenched good. My antivirus scanner has been disabled by this bug so I'm left with either figuring out which system file is the culprit without deleting something vital or just wiping the thing and start over (really don't want to do that if I can avoid it). I'm not a computer wizard but I learn fast. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Once a restore point is gone, there's not much you can do to make it come back. Even if you could... it's likely it would be corrupted so your restore wouldn't work so well.

If you have spyware running deep on the system, your best bet is to wipe and do a clean install... and then be more careful next time, scan all your downloads for spyware!
