I have a sony laptop w w 7 untimate I was upgrading to the new version of this free program , after cleaning my disk and defrag registry My programs seem to be gone- I dod not have a copy of mr hard drive what can I do ?

You can try Recuva. But messing with the registry without having a prior system image is pretty risky. Cleaning the registry is an absolute no, no in Vista and W/7. http://filehippo.com/download_recuva/
