Our server is running out of space. OS W2K3 is on D drive(80GB, SATA). I have a 500 GB SATA HDD, which I want to replace my 80GB(SATA) - C drive.

When I swapped the C drive with the bigger drive, the server would not boot. I am missing some steps. Thanks for your time.

Did you have Server installed on the bigger drive?

No. The OS is on D Drive.

Both the current C and D drives are 80 Gb. I have the win 2k3 on my D drive. I want to swap the current 80 GB C drive with a 500 GB HDD.

Right. Let me explain it easily:

Windows Server 2003: D:\

80GB HDD: C:\

Remove the 80GB HDD and replace with 500GB HDD and it will become like this:

Windows Server 2003: D:\

500GB HDD: C:\

When I did swap C:\with the 500 HDd, it wouldn't boot up. To recap, Win2k3 server is installed on D:\.

Could this be a problem with master and slave settings?

Maybe. One of the connnectors to the motherboard could be damaged.
