(Solved) - sudo password request

I'm a Linux beginner, recently i followed the how to geek tutorial on how to install linux mint's cinnamon desktop, but i cant proceed after password request, the thing is, the password i type does not even show,
please help,

Hi,

The password you type doesn't show, it is normal. This happens on my linux too , however when you type the password you need to look at the keyboard to see if you are typing correct and then just press enter. It works.

Like Samih says...in linux terminal the password characters do not show, unlike other places where characters are displayed by dots. Both formats are so that someone looking over your shoulder cannot see the password you're entering. It's normal Unix terminal procedure.
