Well friendz, When i switch on my laptop the first boot screen(acer) takes nearly a minute to appear and then only the successful booting happens ( (sometimes booting is normal), how could i get rid of this problem, Am using ACER ASPIRE 4220, recent days really am struggling with it, One of its USB port is also not working,(It frequently reports a message USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED) but in SAFE MODE its working and also CARD READER cant read SD cards, when i insert an SD card it is being detected( a beep is heard) and automatically disappears( For MMC its working & sometimes for SD also its working).. even CD_rom is also not detected, if CD-ROM is detected in BIOS, i can see the icon in MY COmPUTER and could use, but it is also not working.....may any one help to know if problem is of H/w or S/w... i have installed XP but now using VISTA Ultimate.

Hello thaslim,
You can try to do a Windows repair and I guess that it's gonna fix some of your problem or even all of them.[Suggestion]
Or if you don't, you first need to scan your PC for viruses/malwares then reinstall drivers because they seem to be corrupted...

Best wishes,
Thanks.

Well Shkumbin, thans for the ans, Actually i think the prob is of DISPLAY driver, often several vertical lines appears in the screen of the laptop n it hangs, and now even BIOS screen also not appearing........ think now it is the hardware problem and has to consult the company right, finally is there any way to get the BIOS screen and i can boot with only external CD-ROM which is not in the FIRST boot sequence...
