@PH, I tried 'go faster stripes', I think I might have put them on the wrong way round

For faster internet browsing one could try finding the fastest DNS resolving service for them like Google Public DNS...an ISP's DNS servers could be patchy for some people.

Of course making backups / images / restore points but...
When I make any change (from default settings) to anything in my computer (Windows related [like changing pagefile settings] or software related [such as browser's cache directories, customization tools - I use DisplayFusion, to name just one]) I keep a note of what I did, just to make sure I rememeber what I did and how to do / undo it.
I think it's important to write it all down because one can't remember everything he/she has ever done.
Also on software-related stuff, many software allows you to export settings. Some people don't think of backing those.

So a little note on that matter would not hurt.
