Go online to the manufacturer of the sound card company,I think you need a driver.

Try your old speakers and I think you should know what your sound card maker is,unless it's integrated with the motherboard. You formatted the computer, and you need to reinstall the sound driver.Look in control panel,it should say something about your sound system.

ugh, im such an idiot, its been so long since i fixed my speakers i forgot one thing. i have a dell computer, so i went to thier website and it tells me all the drivers i can download to fix my sound. if you go to the website of the comapany your computer belongs too you might be able to find the drivers that belong to your computer.

@lemonguy6, do you know what motherboard you have? It is not necessarily that the soundmax drivers are the ones you require, it could also be a realtek driver!! If you could post what motherboard you have then I could take a look for you.
