Sound output is bad

Hi I really need help. I just upgraded my os from windows vista to ultimate windows7, my previous os was an OEM for my desktop then I decided to switch to windows7, i have an acer m1600 with hd audio device by realtek, after i installed windows 7 it automatically installed generic driver from windows, then I also addedan updated version of realtek audio chip driver for windows seven as said in realtek website, but evrytime i play an audio the sound is squeky , bad audio its a radio fm in which the signal is bad, evrytime i un install realtek driver the sound gets fine, but i dont want windows generic sound card driver bec i cant modify the sound quality since i use my pc for recording..please help

Hi, i dont think your Audio chip is Realtek, according to Acer the vendor for the Audio chip is Sigmatel, which is probably why the realtek driver was causing problems.
there are no drivers for the Acer aspire 1600 for Windows 7.
subsequently sigmatel no longer exists.

Try the Vista driver for Sigmatel. It may work.
(you can always roll back if it doesn't)
