hi sorry me again!
my wife has a sony vaio vgr-n38m laptop running vista home premium.
the last few weeks it is starting up very slow the 'knightrider' bar runs across 33 times then then the screen turns pinkish- purple almost like the taskbar has filled the screen before it is up and running.
any ideas please?

Disable all startup programs for a test and see whether it works better then. Maybe you recently installed a big program that nested itself into the startups.

You cannot disable the startup programs with Ccleaner. You have to use msconfig.
