slide show stoped working

when i go into my picture folder and click slide show nothing happens, it was ok a few days ago, not sure it one of the updates caused it, i added a canon 4400f scanner a couple of dayd ago so it could be this that caused it. my old scanner wouldnt work on vista.i have found the prob with vista is i get 1 prob sorted only to find i have another pop up. has anyone had this prob? any idea how to sort it?

Right. In this situation, I would do a disk cleanup to clear out the temp folders, and then if it doesn't work, I would do a System Restore back to a time when it did work.

Hi Mike

i tried cleaning temp folders, i defraged and did a system restore. nothing worked. the slide show icon just wont work, the only way i can do a slide show is to click on a photo, open it then click on the centre buttom "play a slide show" that workes, but i just cant get the slide show icon to work and cant work out what the prob is, all
the other icons ie preview,print ect all work.

Your Icon is probably "dead", i.e. does not know the path to the slide show program any more. The slideshow program obviously works.
