does any body use it?
and would it be worth it to use it to call land lines and such?

I've used Skype in the past and the sound quality is very good. There can be quite a bit of latency depending on the configuration of the two systems and the traffic on the net. This laggy latency can also show up on landline calls, so watch out for that. If you find you are talking over each other there is too much latency. These days I do voice chat with Windows Live Messenger because the only folks that I voice chat are on there.
I just looked at their website and they are saying $2.95 per month for unlimited long distance in the US & Canada with no contract. If that's true, I'd say give it a try for a month and see how it works for you.
