Of course not. It may only be a little less warm for the bugs that have set up camp in your box. - But seriously - sleep mode is the better solution because you need not go thru the whole rebooting process (may be less strain on the sata disc).

Some say it's good to shut it down when you don't use it! I run all my computers permanently (cos they're always working) Although for laptops I use extra cooling pads when the indoor temp. is above 20deg or so. And I think I have less problems.

@mpc104 - You are the lucky one to live in a bug free environment. Here in Florida we consider them as pets
@Lighthouse - You must live in a metric country (best guess is Canada). At 20deg the lads here will shiver and need a heat pad not a cool pad

Save the planet! Unless your computer is totally off, it's still using energy. That means bigger bills to pay and warmer weather in the future! Tree huggers go!

Hi Lighthouse - nice, that's where we go on vacation every year. But you must be a night-owl judging by the time of day you are on the Forum.

It varies, sometimes I'm in bed early, sometimes I'm up all night. I'm retired and have no commitments.

Sounds like my routine. But I am a Florida snowbird (from Europe). I am on EST.

Florida is warm in winter, the Black Forest is cold - but very nice in summer. What on earth is "Romantic Time"?
