This has been done before I think, but it's always interesting seeing everyone elses!

What about also posting links to the wallpaper, in case somebody likes yours :)

Sorry Scott!

Scott is buying a puppy?

I see you have a Vista clone for your OS X in one of those folders :)

EDIT:

Hang on, this is going to sound REALLY stupid, but I can;t work out if you have Vista or OS X - you might have a clone?

Hmm, your bit on hte left makes me think Vista
but the bottom makes me think OS X

then the computer icon SCREAMS Apple (:P)

Whereas you have the Vista recycle bin!

Didn't you see the that first bit. Read War & Peace (in, or for, ½ an hour).

I'm a speed reader ;)

Aleeve, it's Vista with an OSX theme. The sidebar on the left is Desktop Sidebar. I've been using the generic wallpaper because with transparency, the quick launch icons don't always show up well. The dock is RK Launcher.

My Firefox 3 theme (not shown) is this,
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/7172 , it looks great.

The Geek should post his blue theme with Glasser, unreal.

18 seconds is truly incredible. Have you used Bootvis?

@Scott,

No, never used that.
I think most of the reason for the quick boot time comes from not running any background programs, running only essential services plus running in pure classic mode. Also this machine is defragged every evening and the registry is cleaned and compacted. Just the usual nightly maintenance schedule.

The registry is pretty heavily tweaked but nothing not known by others. I do run a bit of over-clock and over-voltage on all components but nothing outrageous.

The network addresses are hard coded so the machines don't spend time getting an address from the router, etc., etc..

Most of the boot time is HD Raid spin-up and seek.

Jack calls the machines "cranked" in college terms but that's the way I've always run computers (LOL) (LOL).

Kindest Regards,
Rick P. ♥ :)

You should consider contributing how you do this, with a little more depth, for the wiki.
