I posted a question on this forum the other day. And one of the regulars, maybe scott or whs, pasted a link for me. It was just the word "here". How did you do that?

Shortening a link
(30 posts)replace 'theurl' with the website www.whatever and the link title with whatever you'd wish, 'here' works :)
Here I go again: (a href="X")Y(/a) Now because of the crummy system here, you have to substitute ( by < and ) by >, X is where you paste the URL and Y is the name you want to give this link. I hope I have confused you completely now.
Edit: Scott did it smarter and beat me to it.
billbonza, let's try it slowly: In your text, let's say it is "I want to post a LINK" you do the following: Instead of LINK, you put this sequence in (best orient yourself with Scott's posting - easier to read than mine). After the first ", you paste the link followed by the second ". Then after the >, you put LINK (this is just for our example) and finish with /a>. Now LINK will appear instead of the URL - after you posted it.
