(Solved) - Shortcut arrows in Windows7 RC (64-bit)

Any idea how to get rid of the #$*&%#edy-blank-blank shortcut arrows overlaid on desktop icons by Windows in Windows7 RC (64-bit version)? I have fxvisor, but it crashes when one tries to apply the changes. The Frameworkx site is down, so I don't know whether there is a later version of fxvisor. I am comfortable editing the registry, so I'd be happy with a registry hack.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Hi bailes. Here is the registry export. All you need now is a blank icon. If you don't have one, I can email it to you. Remember to always backup your registry before making any changes,

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\Shell Icons]
"29"="C:\\Windows\\empty.ico"

____________________________________________________________________________________

Copy your empty.ico file to the C:\Windows folder
Then

Copy what is between the lines above
Paste it into Notepad
Save as ShortcutArrow.reg
Double click on the ShortcutArrow.reg file

Accept the 2 pop-ups
Reboot

(You may have to change the path, if your Windows folder is in a partition other than C.
And please backup your Registry before you make changes)

btw, is there a way to reverse this action, i.e. get the arrows back, without keeping a copy of the old registry to reinstall it?
perhaps delete the "29"="C:\\Windows\\empty.ico" line?

Yes. But we have to say backup your registry first. Because some people may try it on a system it was not intended for.

oops sorry, this is what i really meant:
