Shockwave flash---NOT multiple files!!!!

I read an article that was very helpful about curing my Google Chrome of crashes to Shcokwave flash. BUT that ONLY applies to systems that have MULTIPLE files. I HAVE ONE. And I STILL have crashes (I bought a new powerful modem JUST YESTERDAY so I know that's not the problem). Please advise how to stop this (system Windows 7 Pro) on computers that have ONLY ONE Flash file (or seems to)

When you type about:plugins in address bar and press Enter does it say 2 files in brackets in the shockwave section? If you click on Details in top right it should show two instances. disable pepperflash version.
