Not being a geek, I can't help you much. Likely one of the more knowledgeable members will see your post and try to help. But I would like to know more about the circumstances that caused you to rename a system file. Perhaps you have learned an important lesson about messing with system files without indepth knowledge of what you are doing. Could you pass along a more detailed indication of what prompted this?

Try this -
Shutdown computer
Turn it back on (Boot up)
As the blue bios screen starts, tap F8 a couple of times, should open Safe Mode.
Arrow the white bar down to 'Safe Mode with Command Prompt' (about three or four rows down).
Click Enter.
You should now be in black Command Prompt window with a white curser flashing.
Type the following -
sfc /scannow (there is a space between sfc /).
Click Enter.
Allow it to run, should take around 10-15 minutes, you'll see the percentage running.
This should scan and replace your shell32.dll in its original condition back in the Syste32 folder.
Close Command Prompt, shutdown the computer & reboot in Normal Mode.
Good Luck!
