Never heard of it. When I was a kid, there were no oranges (played with handgranades that were left in the forest instead). So why don't you enlighten us.

Exactly. When my parents were young, oranges were very rare. So if you were lucky, you got one for christmas. And that saying passed down to us. Meaning. If you had been good, or done something well, then at christmas, you would get an orange.

Oh...I just remembered. The US don't allow imports of fruit. I will have to arrange to smuggle it in.
