I have a HP 2000 Laptop, Windows 7, Service Pack 1. I have had it a year now and I am really happy with it.

The other day I went to downlaod a program, and after a few failures, I noticed a requirementid to have Service Pack 3.

My question is...Do these Service Packs need to be downloaded? If I am not having any problems, do I really need to download them?
I do not care at this time about the program I tried to download.
Have there been any problems that people have had with downloading these Service Packs?

Sorry if these are stupid questions. But like the saying goes, if it aint broke, dont fix it.

It won't be a W7 service pack...2 isn't even out. That will be for XP and the program you tried to install was probably not compatible with W7. Ignore it.

Ignore the service pack, you are running win 7!

What were you trying to download?

that would help
