Apparently VLC is again facing security problems. We know from the past, that VLC was riddled with security problems that were fixed in the meantime. But there seems to be no end to it. yeah i like VLC but i have to replace it with realplayer because VLC kept crashing on my Vista for no apparent reason. too bad such a nice product with so many codecs.

Realplayer is also quite heavy handed. You may want to look at Real Alternative as another option.
