(Solved) - Search for win vista files on Win7

Hi

I wondering if anybody can help me...

I have been told by a brother that I need to find the Windows Vista files on my computer and delete them. My pc is running windows 7, but its running very very slow, there's no virus's or malware. My brother has just sorted out my mothers pc as it was doing the same thing, once he deleted the Win Vista files its been running perfectly. Its only been going slow ever since I put Win 7 on pc.
I would get my brother to have a look but he lives down in London.

Please help me. Iv installed OverDisk, but im still not sure which files i need to delete

Was this an upgrade to win 7 from Vista? If so then you should find a windows.old folder.
Deleting that won't speed up your machine.
If the machine came with win 7 then there will be no reference to Vista at all.
Can you post make and model specs including installed ram please.

You brother can help you with TeamViewer:

You can donwload the installer and select "Run" instead of "Install", with the same program your brother will be able to control your computer and help you.

Ok, for the moment please do not delete windows.old file.
As Ruja pointed out above you could remote connect with your brother.
It is quite possible that the slowness might be driver issues in win 7.

Please post your machine specs, Make & model, and installed ram.
Are you 32 bit or 64 bit win 7?
Knowing this we might be able to find the Win 7 drivers for you.

Just how slow is slow ?

Did this slowness happen after installing software or right after the upgrade ?

I think its a 32 bit... It only went slow ever since i installed the win 7 software.

I struggles to load up programs.
i have hardly anything on my pc, mainly just the basic stuff you get with it, but my hard drive is full. I store programs, pics, music etc. on my external hard drive

Always Best to do a Clean Install using Upgrade Media for both Windows 7 and 8.

With 8 you'll have to do a Automated Telephone Activation and the answer to the last question is always ONE
no matter the situation.
