screen freezing on laptop with Vista

Hi Guys,
I wonder if you can help me with an Compaq laptop whose screen
is intermittently freezing,and I have to force shut-down to get it back.
Plus,just as I was going to come to this site,I got the blue screen of D.
Any hints would be much appreciated.

Hi Jim ,

Need a bit more info.

How old is the laptop ?

How many processes are running at any given time ?

What are your hardware specs ?

Is the airway clear and fans running ?
