My outlook pst file somehow became corrupt and won't open. When I try to open it I get the message that it was closed incorrectly and needs to be scanned. When I let it scan automatically, it gives me a message that an error has prevented the file from being saved and that I should close all mail applications and reopen them. When I do that, I'm back at square one.

When I try to run scanpst.exe it will initialize and scan the pst fine, but when I hit repair it will freeze. I've tried leaving it overnight and still no luck. The pst file is 1.4 Gb. Does it have to do with the file size? Any suggestions?

Outlook '07?

Do you have an Outlook.bak file on your system? If so, how old is it?
