My HP 2200c scanner will not run in Vista and HP will not write a new driver. I don't want to install XP in my new Vista computer. Can I run the XP driver for 2200c in Vista's compatibility mode?

You should probably be able to use the driver in normal mode... a lot of XP drivers work fine in Vista. Have you tried to install it?
