How do I boot into safe mode on a particular OS Running Windows 7/8??

Windows 8 is the default OS. And I just found the safe boot in MSconfig before this post. Giving it a try. Also, is there a way to select a OS to boot into safe mode on a cold start? I very, very infrequently have to boot into safe mode, but if i need to, I'd like to know how to do this on a dual boot system.

This for Windows 8.

If you switch Default O/S to Windows 7, then would be tap F8 Key.

Thanks for the info. I think this and the other suggestions will get me going for now. I'll call this post "solved" for now. If I run into any more issues on this I'll re post. Thanks for the valued input you folks gave me, it's very much appreciated.
