I'm a systems administrator, and I have an extra PC under my desk that I'd like to be able to run Kubuntu on. I've tried setting up a KVM in the past but I always run into issue with my USB mouse, as I only have a PS2 kvm, and while my keyboard works my mouse usually doesn't. I'd like to setup a RDP type session from my Windows Laptop so I can just remote into my linux box via KDE like I would another windows server. I know I can always SSH to the machine, but I'm looking to be able to use KDE not just a shell. Is there any free software that would allow me to do this?

Running Kubuntu from Windows
(3 posts)Cgywin is for running Linux programs on Windows kind of like Wine runs Windows programs on Linux.
I suspect though with the mention of RDP that the topic op wants instead to connect to a Linux machine with something like VNC and run Linux programs there.
From searching online I found the following article on setting VNC up on kubuntu: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto.....n-kubuntu/
