Hi

I recently bought my first android phone and i was planning to root it.
Although, there will be an update of Android 2.3.6 to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on April 22.
My question was will an upgrade to Jelly Bean cause any problems because I rooted my phone?

If you 'root' with current firmware an update will simply remove the 'root' and you'll have to wait a few days or weeks until the root for that firmware is available.

You can root 4.1. and 4.2 now. I just rooted 4.2.

You should ALWAYS un-root before you apply any 'official' update.
I say, wait until you get the update and root then.

Why would you 'unroot' before applying updates. I have never seen that approach.

I've never seen anyone un-root before applying an update.
And it's even more at risk if you upgrade from 2.x to 4.x. It's not just from 4.1 to 4.1. It's a MAJOR update...
