I searched online and found http://answers.yahoo.com/quest.....952AAY3XmZ
It says to press F11 when you turn on the computer to get to System Recovery.

That is odd. I haven't heared about a recovery program needing a password. Does the screen asking for one show text like Acer Recovery anywhere?

Brazilianboiii,

Not sure what you mean by ATM ??

ATM can be a Credit Card Number.
ATM can be an Authorized Service Center Code.
ATM can be a transmission protocol.
ATM can be a computer identification code.
What is Acer requesting Specifically ??

Kindest Regards,

Hmm, I just came back from an outing and see that you made some progress. Took me 10 minutes to read thru all of this. But there are some weird things though. I have never seen a password request for a system restore. One sometimes sees that on routers, and there the default is usually "Password" - not very innovative. But maybe it is asking you for the password that you had set for your admin partition.
And the ATM is also strange. In computers that usually refers to a package switching protocol (asynch. transfer mode). No idea what that could possibly have to do with our task at hand.

"Password" is usually for routers. I don't think it applies here. Did you have a password set for your system? And when you had the system restored previously at the geeks, did they ask you for a password when they were doing it? Something really does not compute here - unless Acer has a very own way of doing things. I would give them a call.

umm.. well ill try "password" anyways, and also try a few other passwords, Geek Squad did ask me for the boot menu password... maybe it that.. ill try it and see. If none of this works i gueese ill have to call ACER
