hi, do a search for all powerpoint presentations. you would type in *.ppt for your search and while it's searching make yourself a mug of brewed coffee. :-)

then in the search results click on the date column so that you would sort the results according to the latest date and time. from there see if you can work out the names of each presentations. my point here is sometimes people would not notice that they've used a different filename.

That has'nt worked. Somehow i saved the document to be burnt onto a disk so it does not list in the search. Should i just start again or will it be somewhere. Thanks for your help

open up powerpoint, click on the File menu, rather that Orb thingie on the upper left corner and highlight either the Save As or the Open menu. from the Open menu there'd be another menu that would list that last 10 files you were working on. see if you can figure out your file from there because they are arranged from the latest (top) to the oldest (bottom).

if not, from the Save As menu you would see where you last saved a file.

Malpolo, do you have AutoSave or AutoRecover enabled? It may have saved your document. To learn more about these features, start here:

You can try using Shadow Explorer to find the older copy. See http://www.howtogeek.com/howto.....ows-vista/ for how to use it.
