Require help to remove this off my startup!
(8 posts)Cee, G'day and welcome to the forum. Take a look at this article from Symantec, the makers of Norton Antivirus:
http://www.symantec.com/securi.....38;tabid=2
Does this look like what you have? The third tab on that page has removal instructions and they are long! Do you have any antivirus or antispyware software installed or available?
Thanks Scott...have Sandboxie installed...great program...have annoying popup says..System Alert!...tried to remove through search but does not show...downloaded free spybot...ran it and no threats found..yet this popup continues to state that I do..this is the link when I open it... Link removed)
Download the most excellent Startup Control Panel here, http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml
and you can uncheck unwanted programs from starting.
Cee, this AntiSpyCheck is a fake!! It's either trying to infect you, are trying to annoy you to the point where you will buy their software to make it go away. Please stop posting the URL to the website of these bad guys.
Sandboxie is a good tool for reducing the risk of infection, but it would seem that you already have at least a partial infection. Do you get a window or pop-up like the one shown at the Symantec link that I gave you above? Try the removal instructions there at Symantec. For the System Alert message, see this thread for what might be the same problem:

Attn MODS: please remove all links to the website hosting this rogue application, thanks.
Download (http://www.download.com/Trend-.....27353.html) and run HijackThis. Use HijackThis to scan your PC and it will generate a log file. Paste the log file here so that we can have a look at it.
